You can buy music directly on your iPhone through Wifi. So if you hear a song on the way to your local Wifi-connected hangout and you have to have the song, you can buy and download the track once you're there. But be aware that this song is only on your iPhone and not automatically synced with your iTunes library. You'll need to do that manually. Back at your desktop:
- Put your iPhone in the dock.
- File menu>Transfer Purchases From "Username's iPod".
It's always a good idea to back up all your iTunes purchases on a CD or DVD. The iTunes store will only let you download them once.
