Home Button

The main purpose of the Home button is to take you back to the Home screen with a quick press. But there are some secrets that make it very useful:

  • Hold Home and the Sleep button on the top right at the same time to reset the phone. (Your files will be safe.)
  • Press it to lock down your vibrating Home screen icons.
  • Press once to Go to the first Home screen, press it again to call up Search.
  • Double press and it goes to your fave list in Contacts. In Settings>General>Home you can alternately set it to call up the iPod, call up search, or call up your camera on a double press, .
  • When music is playing, even when the phone is locked, a double press calls up iPod controls. You can turn this off in Settings>General>Home.
  • When your iPhone is off, tap the Home button to show the time or to unlock the screen.
