For many, the small speaker in the iPhone may seem useless, but I use it constantly for watching videos and listening to audio books. You can help the volume of the speaker by presetting the volume of your audio books or videos to a higher setting. To do this:
- Highlight the track in iTunes.
- Press Apple-i to call up the Info window.
- Choose the Options tab.
- Drag the Volume Adjustment slider all the way right.
- Press OK.
